Ken Organes and Denver Cook are two candidates running for local office.
I am Denver Cook and I am asking for your vote on August 26th to serve as your county commissioner from District 4. I am a husband and father; a military veteran; was a small business owner; and am a retired corrections officer. I am also an American who believes the best government is small, fiscally conservative, and highly effective and efficient focused on infrastructure, public safety and excellence in education.

In 2013, Ken retired from CSX Transportation after 32 years of service. Since then, he has filled his life with the things he loves most – reading, fishing, traveling, writing music and spending time with his family.
But during the past few years, he grew alarmed by the lack of reasonable and consistent government leadership and no longer felt he could sit back and enjoy retired life while the citizens of Florida lost their voices to powerful special interest groups.
He started volunteering more in his local Jacksonville community, serving meals at the Sulzbacher Center and shuttling canned food donations for JFCS Jax.
In 2017, he became a member of the Democratic Party Executive Committee representing District 6 in Jacksonville, making it his personal mission to increase local voter registration and participation.
Then, in early 2018, Ken discovered that the District 16 Florida State House representative was running unopposed for reelection. Believing that Florida deserves balanced, responsive leadership, Ken decided to put retirement on hold to serve his community.
