Each week on “5 Minute Salute” our host Chris Budihas talks to veterans making a difference in their communities. Today, Chris has the honor to speak with Michael Kucik of ADS Inc.
Short company description:
ADS is the top provider of tactical and operational equipment to the US DOD, as a small business.
How do you define success?:
Growth. I don’t consider the job I’ve done, but what has been achieved so far and what direction I’m going. If I grew my network and my knowledge base, I’m on track. Success denotes a finished job to me, and yet life just doesn’t seem to work that way. The story continues.
How did you get started in your field or work?:
A referral, every job I’ve had since the army came from a referral. Your network is important!
What’s one thing we should know that makes your company unique?:
We identify capability gaps in DOD and GOVT agencies and source the solution among industry- and if the solution doesn’t exist we invest and create it, and offer it to the end user through a rapid acquisition contract that allows NY NAME requests if items. Nobody else does that.
What was the biggest obstacle you had to overcome in your business?:
Myself! Self doubt will take you down. Imposter syndrome is real. I counter that though, with: “if not me, who”
