On 5 Minute Salute our host Chris Budihas talks to veterans making a difference in their communities. Today, Chris has the honor to speak with S. John Pruitt of Pro Training School LLC.
Short description of you or your company: I am a veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a 35+ year law enforcement officer. I own Pruitt Realty Group, LLC. as a partner and as the licensed broker. I have always believed in helping people in tough situations. I have carried experiences from my long-time law enforcement career into the real estate world and help people either sell their home or buy their dream home. I work with a lot of first responders and veterans and their families. We work hard to make their dreams of home ownership come true. We currently have 12 experienced agents with diverse backgrounds.
What Is Your Why (Why Do You Do What You Do)?: Over the years as a public servant, I have worked with many difficult situations and helped people get the services they desperately needed. I take every opportunity to educate and to help people get back on track. I recently partnered with investors who can purchase people’s homes quickly and help them out of bad situations to help prevent them from potentially losing property.
How did you get started in your field or work?: My dad was a U.S. Army vet and retired police officer. He was my idol when I was a kid. I followed in his footsteps in serving in the armed forces and in becoming a police officer. I have owned my real estate company for years while working as a police officer. Real estate is another opportunity to help people’s dreams come true. I love working through tough issues and being able to put keys to a home in the hands of our clients.
What’s one thing we should know that makes you or your company unique?: I was on the ship and part of the crew that made one of the largest drug busts in U.S. History…160 tons of marijuana back in the 80’s. I received the Commandant’s Letter of Commendation for exemplary service in the USCG. I have received many officer of the year awards for my community service work as a police officer and recently was awarded the Valor award at my current department.
What are your biggest goals in the next 6 to 12 Months?: Our police chief recently allowed us to start a Police Explorer Post at the department. I am the Post Advisor. Explorers compete in many different competitions with other Posts nationally. My goal is to guide our kids to win national awards. In Pruitt Realty Group, my goal is to help each agent grow successfully over the next year to provide a better life for all they serve
