What is the most fascinating fact you know?
One of the most fascinating things about water damage restoration is how quickly damage escalates. Within 24 to 48 hours, untreated moisture can turn into microbial growth, structural deterioration, and indoor air quality concerns. Most people think the visible water is the problem, but what’s happening behind the walls is usually the real issue. That’s why in restoration work, speed, precision, and proper mitigation protocols make all the difference.
How did you acquire deep knowledge in your area of expertise?
My foundation actually started long before All Dry Services of SE Jacksonville. I spent years in commercial construction and healthcare facility projects, which gave me a deep understanding of building systems, materials, and regulatory standards. When we launched All Dry, I combined that construction background with hands-on restoration experience and industry certifications in water, mold, and fire damage mitigation. Over time, working on everything from residential homes to hotels and healthcare environments has sharpened our ability to diagnose problems quickly and execute solutions the right way the first time.
How has mentorship shaped your journey to becoming an expert?
Mentorship has been critical. I’ve learned from construction leaders, facility managers, and seasoned restoration professionals who understood both the technical side and the human side of this work. Disaster restoration isn’t just about removing drywall or drying structures—it’s about helping people navigate disruption. Watching mentors lead with accountability, integrity, and clear communication shaped how we operate today. We believe in listening first, creating a plan, and carrying clients from mitigation through full restoration with as little friction as possible.
How do you use feedback to accelerate your growth?
We take feedback seriously because restoration is a high-stakes environment. When a hotel, healthcare facility, or homeowner calls us, they’re usually under stress. After every major project, we evaluate what worked, what could be improved, and how we can refine our processes. That’s part of why we expanded into general contracting—to provide a true turnkey restoration solution in Jacksonville, from initial mitigation to full rebuild. Feedback helps us close gaps, streamline communication, and ensure that when people trust All Dry, they’re getting a seamless experience from start to finish.

Welcome back to another episode of Ask the Expert, where we highlight experts across multiple industries who are making an impact. I’m Morgan Yonge, joined today by Todd Marshall with All Dry Services of SE Jacksonville. How are you?
Todd:
Very good to see you again.
Morgan:
Very good to see you.
So very exciting stuff. We are announcing you are now a general contractor.
Todd:
Yeah, that is pretty exciting.
Morgan:
That is so exciting. That is a big deal.
Todd:
It’s a big growth step for us. We’ve, you know, we’re going to celebrate our four year anniversary as All Dry on February 22nd. Time flies.
Morgan:
It does.
Todd:
And the growth has been exceeding expectations. But we’ve heard from our commercial side, our hotels and health care, the folks that really benefit most from a turnkey solution. Hey, you take all this drywall out. You took our flooring up. We had this disaster. How are we going to get this put back? We need to get back in business quick.
So we’ve been listening and hearing that. We’re not aiming to be the next big general contractor in Jacksonville. What we’re aiming for by having that license is to offer a turnkey solution and really make it more seamless and painless for them. Now we can carry them from the beginning of a restoration event all the way through to the end and back in business.
Morgan:
And that is so relieving for someone who’s gone through probably a pretty traumatic situation in most cases.
Todd:
Yes. It’s a big license too. In the state of Florida, the general contractor is kind of the top of the chain. You have to have certain experience. Thankfully, my corporate career prior to All Dry, if you go back more years than we want to talk about, I was in hospital construction and office buildings and multi-site banking and things like that. So I was able to leverage that experience for the requirements they have at the state level, which is great.
I learned a lot about that. The state is doing a great job through the DPR, Department of Regulation, to really make sure that when you have a general contractor designation, that it’s strong. You’re background screened. You’ve been financially checked. You’ve got the experience. To try to really make it a strong profession.
Morgan:
Yeah, it has to be. As a general contractor, you’re building the infrastructure for everybody for many, many years to come. We have to make sure they’re properly vetted.
So you’ve gone through the woodwork to see this through.
Todd:
The woodshed.
Morgan:
Yeah, for real.
So you’re doing more commercial than ever these days. Tell me about this.
Todd:
I think our message is resonating. We started in residential, caring for the customer, listening, being consultative. What we’re finding is that word is getting out. These people own businesses or know people that do.
When we get the chance to work in a commercial environment, we’re finding that folks aren’t necessarily satisfied or loyal to what they’ve done in the past if they’ve had an event, whether it be fire, mold, water damage, etc. So they give us a chance. They say, wow, that experience, you ask questions, you come up with a plan, you’re accountable, you do what you say, exceed expectations, keep us informed along the way.
Ethical, high degree of integrity with how you operate. Late model or new machinery. Your people are good. All these things matter. We’re getting a snowball effect there. For us, the sky’s the limit. We keep asking each other, why not All Dry?
There are certainly many players out there, but our message is catching steam quickly, which is very exciting.
Morgan:
So much to look forward to. What are some of your big goals for the rest of this year?
Todd:
It’s big growth time and super exciting. We’re going to lean heavily into commercial because we see such a need and receptive audience for our type of business model.
Health care is big for us. There are things like ICRA, which is an acronym in this business. It has to do with infection control and preventing the spread of contaminants in the health care environment.
We’ll keep building our capacity. Fire work. We haven’t done fire work before. So smoke restoration and kitchen environments. We’re heavily involved in the Restaurant and Lodging Association. We already do quite a bit of hotel work.
Taking that momentum and moving forward with it. We’ve got a gentleman we hope to start soon who will be our commercial business development director. We’re going to push, get more trucks on the road. If you haven’t seen All Dry, you’re going to see All Dry.
Morgan:
Trust the truck with the duck.
Todd:
That’s it. And expect the unexpected.
Morgan:
I love it because I remember that. It’s very memorable. Now every time I see a truck, I look for a duck.
Well, thank you so much for coming on and sharing your expertise with us and all the great things you’re doing. You’re leveling up constantly. We love to see it.
Todd:
Absolutely. Thank you for having me.
