About K-9Line, Inc.We provide free, self-paced service dog training for Veterans of any era, Gold Star Family Members, and U.S. Military Contractors. We provide our Warriors with necessary gear, training materials, and additional resources to train their own qualifying dog—or one provided through our partner programs—starting on Day 1 to build a strong, unified team. Warriors receive in-depth education in ADA laws and Florida statutes, K9 First Aid/CPR, Public Access/CGC, and disability-specific task training. As lifelong members of the K-9 Line, Inc. family, participants receive ongoing assistance and resources.
What differentiates you from the competition? We allow our applicants to utilize their own dog, if they qualify. Moving forward, we train the applicant to train their own dog, providing classes, tools, and sessions to ensure they get indepth education and one on one training.
What is the biggest marketing challenge that you will face in the upcoming year?Securing Funding and increasing participation. As a smaller organization, it has been challenging to locate competent assistance and the level of major funding that is often more accessible to multi-million dollar organizations.

What is the core mission of your organization? Ensuring Veterans are never left behind. By providing quality service dog training, they are also forever a part of the K-9 Line, Inc. family.

How do you measure impact and success in your programs? We continue to involve our Warriors even after their team has graduated. We update them with new rescources we learn of and keep frequent communication open to them.

What are your biggest fundraising or outreach challenges? Being a smaller organization, we have people that wear many hats. To make the mission successful, we rely on low cost or donations from others to assist us.

How do you build long-term relationships with donors and supporters? We meet them! Building a strong network is done with us attending meetings, functions, and events that support our fellow supporters/donors.

What trends are influencing the nonprofit world today? We have seen a fluctuation in use of AI. As their is tons of pro’s with this tool, it aslo can be misleading. Taking away from the actual ground work the non-profits need to do.

Can you share a story that shows your mission in action? Last year, our CEO, Sharon Lowe received a call. It was a Veteran that needed our help. She normally allows them to go through the application process, but something pulled at her to fast track this individual. With in minutes she had me on the phone with him. With-in a few weeks, our President Shawn Salvi, had a dog paired with him. Sharon could hear that he just needed someone. This truly engulfed our mission of Veterans Helping Veterans, and You Are Not Alone.

What keeps you motivated in this work? Being a Combat Veteran myself, I too face my own struggles and obstacles. I am a success story from the K-9Line, Inc. program, with my now passed boy, Günther. I see what the potential is for a better quality of life, im living it. My family and friends see it. This is truly the 9Line I needed when I came home. So, why not offer that to another Veteran.
