This week on Military Affairs and Veterans Department’s (MAVD), 5 Minute Salute, our host Chris Budihas talks to veterans making a difference in their communities. Today, Chris has the honor to speak with Alex Alderman of Alderman Agency.
Short company description: I’m a freelance digital marketer helping European tech companies find new clients in Western markets using LinkedIn and cold email.
What Is Your Why (Why Are You In Business)?: Despite being married with 2 daughters, I like pretending that I have some amount of control over my life. 🙂 Being a freelancer means I can set a schedule that works for me and my family. It also gives me the flexibility to work only on projects that I like and with people who I respect.
How did you get started in your field or work?: After the military and college, I tried a normal sales job. It was ok, but I couldn’t imagine working it for the next 40 years. So I ended up researching what kind of work I could do while also traveling. I started with teaching English and eventually started digital marketing.
What’s one thing we should know that makes your company unique?: I’m a marketing company that stopped doing marketing for myself over a year ago. I found such a good gap in the market that my entire calendar is booked from word of mouth referrals.
What are your biggest goals in the next 6 to 12 Months for your business?: One of my long term clients asked me to come onboard as co-founder and CMO of their startup, which is focused on building AI tools for game developers. This will be a huge step up in my career and my first project where I will have equity.
