Why did you choose your industry?I didn't choose this industry it chose me, and I am so glad it did through the years my passion to assist small businesses have tremendously grown. I started in this industry in 2016 seeing the lack of education for entrepreneurs in the startup phase of their businesses I had the feeling to save the world through knowledge and training on making sure business owners was educated on compliance and the legalization of setting their business up for success.

Who are your typical clients?My ideal client is a business start-up, or small businesses that understand there is a requirement by law to stay compliant and make sure they have a profitable business that is set up for success. As well I love assisting small businesses that did not quite get it right the first time round and needs a second chance as getting their business finances in order and understands the cost of doing business.

What do you like best about being in this industry?I love being in this industry because it's a forever changing industry, but the principles will forever be the same. I love the satisfaction it brings when my clients succeed in obtaining their business & financial goals it's an awarding feeling for me to see them succeed.

What are common problems you see?The common problems that arise for business owners is that they devalue the services that we provide. They attempt to cut the cost and handle the finances and books on their own but lack the training, experience, and expertise. They did a whole for their business/organization then expect their accountant to be a miracle worker while staying in compliance with the accounting principles and the tax entities.

What advice/tips do you have for clients?My advice for entrepreneurs is make sure you have an effective accounting system in place. Understanding how to read and interpret your financial reports will play a vital role in the success of your business/organization. Keep your personal funds and business funds separate as it could lead to opening yourself up for bigger problems in the end, and last but not least sales tax belongs to the State at the moment of collection so make sure you are accurately reporting sales tax for product and some service-based businesses.

What keeps you up at night?The thing that keeps me up at night is finding a balance between being a full-time entrepreneur and spending time with my family.

How do you market yourself to grow/expand your business?We market through social media presence; we utilize digital marketing and place our business on many platforms such as yelp, google, craigslist, etc just to name a few. In our downtown we use vending opportunities and attend many networking events.

How involved are you in the community?Royalty Accounting Firm is actively involved in the community by providing free workshops to small businesses on different topics to bring financial literacy to the community, as well as our annual Back to School Drive where we provide free school supplies, and other things to the kids in the community in need. We volunteer our services during the holiday giving out toys and food.

What is your favorite not for profit or charity?Heal the Land Ministries & Subliminal Dreamz

What advice would you give to someone thinking of getting into this business?My advice to a fellow entrepreneur would be first and foremost put God first in all that you do. Make sure whatever business venture you have you understand the "Why" behind your venture. There are going to be good days and there will be some bad. There will be highs and there will be lows but as long as you set your business on a solid foundation rooted and grounded in God. He will never leave you nor forsake you and your business will always be blessed.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?In my spare time I enjoy traveling and spending time with my children. I sit on the board of a nonprofit organization and enjoy being a valuable asset to the organizations I am affiliated with and when I am not doing anything you can find me watching criminal TV Shows such as Law & Order, NCIS, & Hawaii Five-O.
